Welcome to Wessagusset. For those who aren’t familiar with the name “Wessagusset”, it is the original name of Weymouth, Massachusetts and comes from the name Native Americans gave to the area along the Fore River, off the coast of New England. But that’s enough of the history lesson. This blog site is more about Keith Stanley Ramon Spain, a life long resident of the Town Of Weymouth and the author of most of the opinions and stories you read here. The entries are mostly current events and political in nature and in case you haven’t figured it out yet, Stan is a yellow dog democrat in the bluest of blue states.
If you are interested in local history, Stan’s other site is The Wahey Boys which also has some interesting stories and historical information about Weymouth.
Oh and by the way, there always seems to be questions about my name. I can assure you that the name is authentic and is the name given me at birth; and no, I’m not from Spain and have never been, although I’m sure it’s a lovely place. You also wouldn’t be the first to recite “the rain in Spain falls mainly…” anyway, that’s me. I’m called “Stan” by my friends, and Keith by family members and others who know my father, also Stan, so as not to cause confusion. I think that just about covers it.
